Limited was incorporated as a private Company in September
1977. It is a family-owned company, 99% of the shares
being held by three members. The principal lines of
business are importation of brand new Automobiles, Motorcycles,
Generators and Power Products. In this regard the Company
holds the sole distributorship in Sri Lanka for the
following products.
1. 'Honda' Automobiles from
Japan.
2. 'Honda' Motorcycles from Japan.
3. 'Honda' Generators form Japan.
4. 'Hero Honda' Motorcycles from India.
5. 'Atlas Honda' Motorcycles from Pakistan.
6. 'Shriram Honda' Generators from India.
7. 'Honda' Engines from India
Past performence Stafford Motor Company
Limited has expanded it's operations considerably from
1977 projecting an excellent track record of Corporate
growth. It commenced operations with an annual turnover
of Rs.30 million in 1978 and it currently stands at
over Rs.1 Billion per annum.
The Companies business performance and it's success
is attributed to the attention focussed on CUSTOMER
CARE and service for internationally accepted 'HONDA'
products, well known for it's high standard of quality.
Share Capital The authorised and issued
share capital of the Company is Rs. 50 million. The
company's net worth was Rs.3 Million in 1978, which
stands at Rs. 3 million in 1978, which stands at Rs.
300 million today.
Stafford Motor Company
will join hands with the National Apprentice and
Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) to conduct
a motorcycle mechanic training course to provide
job opportunities for Sri Lankan youth in the motorcycle
maintenance and repair sector.
